Art Around Town Auction Opens November 26!

Auction Details

Bidding Opens: Friday, November 26 – 12pm
Bidding Closes: Friday, December 3 – 8pm

Bidding takes place at biddingowl.com/ArtAroundTown

The Garner Art Around Town public art exhibit wraps up this month, culminating in an online auction of 23 original works of art painted by artists from around Garner and Raleigh.

Take advantage of this opportunity to place your bid and own a local piece of art. Interested bidders can view item listings before the auction goes live and place their bids starting at 12pm on Friday, November 26th. Bidding ends at 8pm on Friday, December 3rd.

Artists will receive 75% of the highest bid on their artwork. The remainder of the proceeds will benefit the Downtown Garner Association and their public art efforts. Minimum bid for each painting will start at $200.

Auction Kickoff Event – November 26

Join us at the Garner Night Market on November 26 from 5-9pm for our Auction Kickoff! Artists from the exhibit will be on hand at the Downtown Garner tent to talk with the community about their artwork and experience participating in Art Around Town.  Stop by and view the art that will be available before you place your bid!

Artist Reception – December 1

The Downtown Garner Association is hosting an Artist Reception to celebrate those who participated in the Art Around Town exhibit and promote the online auction of their artwork.

Join us Wednesday, December 1 from 6-8pm on the stage at the Garner Performing Arts Center! The evening will kick off with a short program and artists will have an opportunity to speak about the inspiration and work behind their pieces. This event is open the public.

Click the buttons below for more information on the auction and events.

 Preparing to Bid

Bidders are encouraged to view artwork they like in person while it is on exhibit, prior to bidding. Locations of the artwork is available on a walking tour map at downtowngarner.com/arts. All artwork has been on display outdoors from 3+ months and may have experienced minor wear and tear.

After Bidding Closes

Highest bid placed by 8pm on December 3rd wins. All bids are final at the close of auction and all payments must be made through the auction platform.

Winning bidders will be contacted by DGA representative to arrange local pick up of the canvases by December 8th. DGA cannot ship or deliver any canvases.

If a bidder is not local, they must make their own arrangements to have their painting delivered. Bidders may directly contact the artist to see if the artist is willing to arrange delivery or shipment. Artists are not obligated to provide delivery or shipment, so bidders are STRONGLY encouraged to reach out before they place their bids. Any and all cost associated with shipment or delivery will be at the expense of the bidder, in addition to the cost of winning the painting.
