Describe your painting:

Girl stomping in puddle

What inspired you?

Thinking back when my daughter was young and we’d head out all over town looking for puddles and flooded waterways to explore. Sometimes we would throw rocks in them to see the splash and other times we would just stomp in them, because what else are puddles for…

What is your background as an artist?

I have drawn most of my life, mostly from a canoe/or raft where my family grew up off a remote island north of Poland. I have always drawn cartoons. I love the expressions and life an artist can capture with simple lines and how the viewer can connect instantly with the same feeling.

Do you have a connection to Garner or did you learn anything new about Garner as a result of your painting?

I have learned that in Garner in the summer time, paint does not dry fast in this humid weather.
