The Town of Garner and Downtown Garner have partnered with Wake Tech and a network of local partners to bring Launch Garner to the community. This 10-week immersive entrepreneurial course is designed to help prospective entrepreneurs and current small business owners get in-depth knowledge on how to develop and execute a business plan. The program also pairs students with mentors who provide further insight on how to operate a successful business. The program is now seeking 10-20 students for the next cohort.

To qualify, students must meet the following requirements:

Live or work in the Garner area
Demonstrate a need for financial and business resources
Consent to interview by the selection committee
Complete in-person business training once a week for 10 weeks
Develop a business plan and budget
Meet and communicate regularly with an assigned business mentor

The Downtown Garner Business Incentive Grant Program is designed to invigorate our historic district by supporting the expansion of existing downtown retail establishments. Our aim is to strategically target key areas within Downtown Garner, fostering economic growth and a vibrant community atmosphere.

This grant program offers eligible downtown businesses the opportunity to receive up to $2000 in financial support, allowing them to invest in improvements, expansions, and initiatives that will enhance their business and contribute to the overall appeal of our downtown area.

By providing this direct support, we hope to incentivize our existing businesses in growing and thriving in Downtown Garner. Together, we can create a dynamic and welcoming environment that benefits residents, visitors, and business owners alike.

Wake Tech Entrepreneurship & Small Business Center – Wake Tech’s Entrepreneurship & Small Business Center helps people start and build businesses, serving any resident or small business in Wake County. The services are free and funded through tax dollars.

The North Carolina Small Business Center Network – The NC Small Business Center Network offers a variety of seminars and workshops to support the development of new businesses and the growth of existing’s businesses. Most seminars and workshops are available at no charge.
