Describe your painting:
My painting elevates a reminder I think we can all use at times: be a good (and kind) human. We often forget that others struggle just as we do, no matter how perfect their life or day may seem from the outside. You never know what someone else is going through; perhaps they are silently grieving the loss of a loved one or they struggled to get out of bed this morning and it took everything in them to get to the grocery store. To spread goodness and acts of kindness is to spread seeds of hope, compassion, and growth.
What is your background as an artist?
I created Daylight Illustrations as a way to share kind and loving messages with myself and the world. I have been a creator and crafter my whole life, but I began digital illustration after graduating from college where my mental health was at its worst. As I continue on my own self-love and mental health journey, I want to help others as they navigate their own!
Do you have a connection to Garner or did you learn anything new about Garner as a result of your painting?
I currently live in Garner with my fiance, Josh, and cat, Aurora.
